What, Me Worry?
No, I’m not going to worry because a very young rookie fifth starter is having trouble finding his stride. There are so many options. He could find his stride. He could be sent down for more seasoning and one of the other young pitchers doing so well in New Orleans can come up. The Mets can afford to be patient.
Look at it this way. In the 2-1 victory on Tuesday night, the first four men in the lineup got 1 hit. In the Wednesday afternoon Pelfrey meltdown, they rebounded and got 8 hits.
As I said, a million ways to win.

Yes, and a bunch of ways to squander opportunities, Dana. Was at last night’s game in DC. Lousy base running, and some (to me) inexplicable non-moves by Willie.
Unsettling.

Yes, Chris. I agree. That was a terrible game. But how about tonight’s game (4/28)? More squandered opportunities, but more scrappy, inventive play. One thing that has struck me from the sounds on the radio is that there seemed to be a lot of Mets fans at RFK stadium. When you went to the game, did you find that to be the case?

Yes, there are always plenty of blue and orange clad fans at RFK…when the “Let’s Go Mets” chant starts, miffed Nats fans try to drown it out. Good fun.
I had great tickets for yesterday’s game, but had to unload them…my wife had, months ago, bought Shakespeare tickets for us and my father-in-law (his birthday was last week, and he was in town visiting)…d’oh! At least I was able to sell them to another Mets fan.
Maine is looking very good indeed.
