I will express one cautious note of optimism. Thanks to the beauty of MLB Extra Innings, I had the pleasure of watching the Phillies cough up an 11-0 lead they had in the 6th, with a final score of 13-11. Granted, the Phillies won, but with that kind of regurgitation, HOPEFULLY nature will take its course.
JD, I had no idea until this minute (11:10 AM on 9/18) that Philadelphia almost lost that game. That makes me feel better than I have felt since the debacle last night.
The baseball gods are just drunk, playing cards, sitting there with little Mets voodoo dolls. That’s all. This will pass. It has all season. Look at it this way. We have a 2.5 game lead, which means, if the Phillies are gonna take first place, it can’t happen for at least another three games. Comforting? Not so much I guess. Just gotta wait and see.
