A Very Important Plug

Please visit garykeithandron.com and click on “GKR events” to reserve your places at the three scheduled events scheduled for the season by GKR or “Pitch in for a Good Cause.”  Lynn Cohen, who established and runs this foundation, was able to raise a significant amount of money for the three charities who are the beneficiaries of all of this Mets fan good will.  I also recommend checking out the GKR Shea Farewell video on that page.  It’s a great little spot made by the makers of Mathematically Alive and the young lady you see on the main page before you hit the play button is my daughter Sonia.  That day was a wonderful day for 1200 people, thanks to Lynn.  I write all about it in my forthcoming book, which now has a subtitle:  The Last Days of Shea:  Delight and Despair in the Life of a Mets Fan.

that day was awesome. i wish the “books” (as Howie Rose calls it when a game ends) could end hanging after that game. i am so glad I went, so glad I got on the field, and don’t remember the video camera at all even though I was in the video (the pudgy-looking person with headphones in the background of the interview right before yours). i think i remember seeing you and your group waiting to get on the field. I look forward to your new book.

Your daughter is a lovely girl, Dana. You obviously raised her right, since she’s a Mets fan. ;)

Thank you Theresa. I did my best to raise her right. But if she had become a Yankee fan, I would have accepted her for who she was. I would have disinherited her, but I would have accepted her for who she was.
